Conference Overview:
This year we will be lifting the curtain on the present to take a peek into the future of health care design. With health care technology advancing ever faster, with the onset of genetically grown organs, with robotic utilization incorporated into everyday experiences, and with life spans to increase far beyond what is presently possible, we will soon face difficult moral and ethical decisions that will shape the future of our existence.
To broaden our thinking and lead us into this “Brave New World” of health care design, Dr. Richard M. Satava will keynote our conference. Dr. Satava is an internationally recognized speaker on future trends in health care technology and currently serves as Professor-Emeritus in the Department of Surgery, University of Washington and is a former Senior Science Advisor at the US Army Medical Research and Materiel Command.
Other main speaker sessions will focus on the advances of 3D printing for human organs and skeletal tissue, the utilization of robotics in surgery and rehabilitation, and other technological advances in the areas of diagnostics and genetics. All of these topics will have a direct influence on the future design and operation of health care facilities.
